Clinical Documentation
digitalDONOR® is invaluable to care coordinators in the clinical management of the donor and the creation of an electronic medical record. This information is used to match a donor with recipients and assist transplant surgeons in determining organ and tissue viability. It also supports the upload of relevant data to UNOS for organ and recipient matching, as well as tracking and time stamping each step in the data gathering and disposition process of organs and tissues.
Virtually connecting the care coordinator with the donor hospital as well as relevant labs, pharmacies and other participants in the donor patient’s care, digitalDONOR enables timely, life-saving collaborative medicine in a HIPAA-safe environment with electronic audit trails. This includes interactive features such as the viewing of medical records and digital video images, listening to audio files, electronically requisitioning and receiving lab tests, and tracking administered drugs. The chart on the right provides a sampling of our approach to donor-centric patient charts.
Operational Support
Status Boards - Kinective™ HealthTech makes tracking a transplant episode easier and more intuitive from start to finish. We understand the mission critical process and the urgency and accuracy required. To simplify the process of capturing the data and to ensure no step is missed, our Status Boards provide a real-time view of donation activity from referral intake to transplant. It displays what actions need to be taken for active donor patients, as well as serving as an entry point for workflows.
Document Management - Enabling the timely collection of and permissions-based, view-only access to donor patients’ medical records, as well as documented consents, certificates and directives, Document Management supports CMS initiatives by OPO and Tissue Bank administrators.
Hospital Development - Optimizing the percentage of eligible donors who yield organs and/or tissues is the bottom line. digitalDONOR provides tools to OPOs to instruct donor hospitals with regard to best practices for donor patient handling and interfacing with next of kin. Data driven decision support helps to identify and track when a facility may need additional training and where training efforts would be best focused to maximize the number of potential donors.
Security - Creating an audit trail of any revisions and allowing for electronic signatures, digitalDONOR’s security measures ensure HIPAA compliance and conform to FDA regulations.
Reporting - By warehousing all of the data collected on donor patients, digitalDONOR’s business intelligence tools can build custom analyses and dashboards of business operations, enable benchmarking and support CMS reporting.
Financials - Tracking all data during the process, digitalDONOR generates a custom, comprehensive billing file. As a result, it’s much quicker and easier for OPOs or Tissue Banks to document and create accurate invoices.
